Types of meats
Meats are those kinds of food that are available naturally and have a lot of nutritive value in them. The meat eaters are also called non-vegetarians and it includes a huge list of the meats that they eat like chicken, pork, beef, fish, and lamb- these being the commonly eaten kinds. The less commonly eaten kinds include deer, turkey, ostrich, camel, and bison- to name a few.
The most commonly eaten type of meat is chicken. It is one of the favorite meats eaten in almost all parts of the world. One of the famous forms is the deep fried chicken which is a favorite of almost all chicken eaters. Chicken breasts are particularly enjoyed when they are barbequed.
The other type of meat that is eaten is pork or the meat obtained from pig. One type of pork that is relished by one and all is bacon, which represents the stomach of the pig. It is especially enjoyed during breakfast with scrambled eggs.
Beef is another type of meat commonly eaten in the world over. There are many industries that process the beef meat and hence good quality beef is made available in most parts of the world now. It was one of the most commonly eaten meats, however due to its high fat content; a substitute meat is used more often. For example, in Canada where bisons are reared, bison meat is eaten more often than beef because of its lesser fat content and thus a healthier food choice.
Fish is one of the superior kinds of meat that is eaten all worldwide. Different preparations of the same are famous in different countries. The fish oils are rich in vitamins and thus the fish eaters tend to have very good complexion. Salmon is one kind of fish that is eaten widely and relished equally.
Lamb is not that much of a favorite of many however those who relish it cannot stop eating the meat!
The less commonly eaten meats include deer meat. In places where deer are found in plenty like mountainous regions or Prairie lands, they are hunted for and then eaten on a feast or special festive days. Turkey is also a festive meat and it is usually eaten with spices and sauce on occasions like Thanksgiving Day. Ostrich and camel are also delicacy meats that are not eaten too often but occasionally and obviously in places where they are available in plenty.
Another such delicacy type of meat is goose and duck. In Canada and the States and even Europe, where these birds are found in plenty, they are hunted and their meats are enjoyed by the locals.
Thus, there are numerous types of meats and they are enjoyed not only for their tastes but also due to them being a powerhouse of proteins, vitamins, especially vitamin B, and to some extent the other nutrients that cannot be got through a plant source. Deficiencies of nutrients like vitamins and minerals are seldom seen in meat eaters.
